Sudeshna Dasgupta-O'Brien

Sudeshna Dasgupta-O'Brien, M.D. is board certified in Pediatrics, and will be seeing both adults and children here. She has recently completed her Defeat Autism Now certification to work with autistic patients. Dr. Dasgupta graduated from Calcutta Medical College, University of Calcutta, in 1980 with an MBBS degree (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery), which is equivalent to an MD degree. She completed a rotating internship in 1981 followed by one year as house-staff in Pediatrics in 1982. After coming to the US, she completed residency in Pediatrics in Chicago, Illinois in 1987. Dr. Dasgupta has also earned a Master of Public Health with a focus on Maternal and Child Health in 1995 from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is currently working for the CDSA, Children's Developmental Services Agency, in Asheville and Boone, NC, while training in Naturopathic Medicine. Her focus is women's and children's health issues, especially prevention of illness and promotion of health. She is particularly interested in nutrition, environmental toxins, and energy medicine.
