Jen Lepkowski

Jen Lepkowski was born in upstate New York, where milk came directly from the cows and evening walks with the family's sheep Chico and goat Willy were regular events. Her artistic abilities were apparent at an early age and she received various awards for drawing and painting. She moved to Georgia as a teen and attended college at the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) in Atlanta. While obtaining an engineering degree she was first introduced to the art of photography. She dabbled in photography for many years as a hobby and then, realizing it was her true passion, attended Santa Monica College to pursue a degree in photography. SMC consistently ranks as one of the Top Photography Schools in the Nation.

Jen is fast becoming a busy, requested photographer for many events. Her wedding, portrait, headshot, and corporate photography all revolve around one of Jen's biggest loves- capturing people in the moment. Her natural knack with children enables her to bring out the true spirit of a child of any age, from infancy to adulthood and her behind-the-scenes photojournalistic approach to weddings truly give the bride and groom lasting memories that they can hold onto for a lifetime.

Jen's work has been showcased at La Foto Gallery in Santa Monica, CA, The Gallery at the Creative Center for Photography in Los Angeles, CA, Altered Esthetics Gallery in Minneapolis, MN, The Asheville Area Arts Council in Asheville, NC, Merrimon Gallery in Asheville, NC, Pack Place Gallery in Asheville, NC, The Grace Center Gallery, Franklin, NC, North Carolina Stage Company, URTV in Asheville, NC and she was chosen to be the featured artist at Cox, Castle, and Nicholson, LLP in Culver City, CA, where over one hundred of her fine art prints are now on permanent display in their fine art collection.

Recent accomplishments include being awarded 3rd place in the National Juried Exhibition, 'Boundaries', being selected as a Regional Artist Project Grant recipient and winning 2nd place at the annual Grace Juried Photographic Exhibition. Jen is also one of just seven photographers in the country selected to study under the world-renowned fine art photographer, Rod Dresser, in San Juan Islands, Washington for two consecutive years. Jen is also very honored to be voted the Best Visual Artist in Western North Carolina by the Mountain Xpress.
