Real Estate Selling Tips
Selling Your Home or Property in Asheville NC

Before putting your house on the real estate market, you will want to determine the best selling price. Getting your own appraisal is a good way to accomplish this goal. Realty companies will often do a market analysis to help come up with the best price.
Before the appraisal:
- Make repairs.
- Perform maintenance: prune shrubs, weed, put down fresh mulch, repaint.
- Familiarize yourself with current market values in your neighborhood.
- Make a list of your home's selling points such as best features, improvements you have made, and near-by amenities.
Before you put your home on the real estate market:

- Clear out the clutter. Put away small decorative items. Keep closets neat.
- Clean out the garage.
- Remove furniture if room is crowded.
- Wash your windows and screens to let in more light.
- Keep everything clean including switch plates, floors, stoves and refrigerators.
- Get rid of smells. Clean the carpet and drapes. Get rid of pet, smoking, and cooking smells. Open the windows.
- Put higher wattage bulbs in light sockets to make rooms seem brighter, especially basements and other dark rooms. Replace any burned-out bulbs.
- Make minor repairs: sticky doors, torn screens, cracked caulking, dripping faucets.
- Clean up the yard: cut the grass, blow the leaves, trim the bushes, and edge the walks.
- Clean your gutters.
- Power wash the exterior house and deck
Selling expenses may include:
