Riding Trails for Horse Owners

Horseback Riding Through a Field

Asheville and the surrounding mountains of Western North Carolina has numerous hiking trails that allow horseback riding for those who are fortunate enough to own a horse or have access to horses that you can transport via trailer. Many of the State and National Parks listed in our Hiking and Backpacking guide, as well as many of the trails listed in our Mountain Biking guide allow for riders on horseback. Some of these trails even have specific days of the week which are horse and hiker only, to eliminate the danger of bikes and horses on the same trails.
