Flavors of Asheville

If you were to begin your search for a great pie in the heart of the city at the Vance Monument, it wouldn't matter what direction you went. North, South, East and West Asheville are all home to fine pizza parlors, many of which offer a local flair and have pizza styles and tastes that reflect the culture of Asheville. In West Asheville on Haywood Road, voices were heard and has come on the scene with organic toppings and crust. Although a chain, Mellow Mushroom is well suited to Downtown Asheville with its psychedelic subculture, and bohemian roots, not to mention some truly wild pies. Asheville Pizza and Brewing Company, in North Asheville is a pizzeria, second run movie theater, micro-brewery, has games, and some unique art and decor. Marco's Pizzeria, with locations in both North and South Asheville, is another favorite both locals and visitors.
