Pop into our monthly book discussion as we read and discuss books that relate to artwork in our galleries. Moderated by a member of the Museum's staff or a volunteer, we look forward to exchanging ideas and learning about books, art and each other! We meet in the Museum's Library and venture out into the galleries as well. Bring your copy of the book; each book will be available for purchase through the Museum Shop as well as area bookstores. Suggestions for future books are most welcome! Pre-registration is required. Contact Nancy Sokolove, Adult Programs Manager, at 828.253.3227, ext. 120 or nsokolove@ashevilleart.org to register, for more information or with book suggestions. Bluebeard: A Novel, Kurt Vonnegut The "autobiography" of minor Abstract Expressionist painter Rabo Karabekian (an inconsequential player in Vonnegut's Breakfast of Champions) is interspersed with Karabekian's present-day doings in his posh, art-treasure-filled manse in East Hampton, Long Island. Satirical and humorous. |
