Marquetry is the art of creating decorative designs and pictures by skillfully utilizing pieces of wood veneer glued together to form a picture or a pattern. While the exact origins of marquetry are unknown, it is believed to have its inception in ancient Egypt where inlays were used in palaces and on burial caskets. Exhibiting artists include Clyde Badger, Ted Lawshe, Thomas Pressley, Bonnie Richardson, Hank Richter, Julie Russell, Jim Sockwell and Beth Woody.
