The Asheville area is home to an interesting mix of cinematic options. For those in the mood for an art, foreign or small budget movie, the Asheville area offers several options, most notably the Fine Arts Theatre located in downtown Asheville. A similar, comfortable atmosphere can also be found at Flat Rock Cinema at Singleton Center, formerly known as the Skyland Cinema. This small, inviting cinema located just south of Hendersonville offers art house, foreign, and some feature films.

Dinner and a Movie

If the dinner and a movie is more your cup of tea, then Asheville has two movie theaters that will fulfill your culinary and entertainment needs. First, the Asheville Pizza and Brewing Company, also known as the Brew 'n' View, offers second run features and cult classics for only $3.00 per ticket, while serving up their own local brews, pizzas, and other affordable fair. For a more formal movie and food experience check out the Cinebarre at Biltmore Square. This recently renovated theater offers first run features and a full menu to satifty all your senses.

Traditional Movie Theaters

Asheville is also home to several traditional movie theaters, offering first run feature films. These theaters include UA Beaucatcher 7 and Carmike Cinemas 10, each located near the Asheville Mall, as well as Regal Holywood Cinemas 14 located in South Asheville off of Hwy. 25. If you are ever in the Hendersonville area check out the Epic Theaters of Hendersonville for a wide range of first run feature films and popular low budget movies.

Although the address and name have changed, the Flat Rock Cinema, formerly known as the Skyland Cinema, has stayed true to their award winning formula.
