Using AshevilleNow.com to Market your Business
We often get asked about how businesses can maximize their exposure on AshevilleNow.com. The answer is different for every business depending on how much time and money they are willing to invest in promoting their products and services online. There are basically 4 ways to use this website for branding and promotion: free business listings, the new user system, paid advertising, and content packages.
Free Business Listings
AshevilleNow.com currently contains around 400 business directories. There directories can be found in the various content sections of the site. We have directories in all five major sections, but the majority of our business directories are located in the Business Directory section. This section contains all businesses that don't fall into any of the pages found in our Mountain Living (real estate, health care), Arts and Entertainment (art galleries, artists, attractions), Food and Dining (restaurants and bars), and Outdoor Activities (guides and outdoor attractions) sections.
Each business directory offers a link to the "Suggest a Business" form. This link is located near the top of the directory beside the page title, and is labeled "Suggest a Business." Click this link on any business directory to add your business. Once you fill out the form we will approve your business listing and your business will be located in the free alphabetical business listings for the business categories that you selected on the form.
Utilizing the New User System
In late March we launched a user profile system. This system allows businesses and individuals to create a well branded, multi-faceted social media campaign on AshevilleNow.com. Once you create a user account for yourself or your business (www.ashevillenow.com/user/signup.asp) you can quickly and easily upload photos and articles about any topic that you want to promote. Each piece of content that you submit will contain your profile image and a link to your website and have the option to also display your phone and/or email address.
Advertising on AshevilleNow.com
AshevilleNow.com offers 4 simple and affordable advertising options: Full-page Profiles, Tiered Advertisements, Premier Ads, and Content Packages.
Full-page Profiles
For $250/year ($200 if you provide a link back to us) you can upgrade your free business listing to a Full-page Profile. This will move your listing to the top of the page, add a logo or picture to your business listing, and make the listing link to a Full Custom Webpage about your business.
Tiered Advertisements
These simple ads combine a logo graphic with three lines of text, a phone number, and a website link. Similar to Google AdWords ads, except with a logo, these ads appear in one or more business directories of your choosing and all related pages on the site. Example: If you buy one of the four Tiered Ad spaces in the Real Estate Agents directory it will also appear randomly on all other Real Estate content pages (we have about 25) and all new Real Estate articles (we have about 20 and get new ones each week) along with the other Tiered Ads ads from the Real Estate section.
Premier Advertisements
These are our largest and most exclusive advertisements. They are also the only ads that are allowed to be animated. Each page has space for only ONE Premier Ad, located directly above the right navigation menu (See the example ad on this page). The space is 225 X 190 px and can contain either a JPG, GIF, or Flash advertisement.
Content Packages
We also offer writing, video and audio (podcasting) services to local businesses who want content to post to their website, their blog, AshevilleNow.com, and other social media websites such as Facebook. These packages can be bundled with Premier Advertising and a User Account to maximize your exposure and branding efforts on AshevilleNow.com.
Our writers are web writing and search engine optimization (SEO) experts. We create focused, on message content that advertises your products and services without sounding like a sales pitch.
Discounts
We can create a variety of package discounts and also offer standardized discounts to members of Mountain BizWorks and the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce.

Bringing to businesses of all sizes, a unique educational tool that uses next generation video technology (only 9 minutes/day) to provide the street smart training that virtually every business lacks for their employees.
Times are tough, but the companies that give the proper training and mental tools to their employees will prosper.
