The Tourists are in Full Swing

The Asheville Tourists are the local baseball team of Asheville. They are part of the South Atlantic League, which is a minor league. There are several other teams in the league throughout the Eastern part of the Untied States. There are about 18 teams total, including Greenville Drive, West Virginia Power, Charleston River Dogs, and the Augusta Green Jackets. The Tourists however, are not doing so well. They are in third to last place ahead of Rome and Augusta.

The game times for the Tourists are at around 7:00 PM Monday through Saturday, and on Sunday playing time is around 2:00PM. McCormick field opens an hour before game time. They have typical ballpark food at the game. Different promotions happen each night, like Thirsty Thursday (beer and soda for $1 presented by Wild Wing Cafe, Star 104.3 and Rock 104.9), Mega Money Mondays (the first 750 fans will receive a money envelope with a number on it and a dollar bill inside). The Tourists also support the community by promoting education, girl scouts and goodwill.
For baseball lovers, or if you want to go to a majority of the Tourists games, you can buy season tickets or half season tickets. The box seat prices are around $462 for the full season, and $233 for a half season. The general admission prices are around $301 for the full season, and $150 for a half season. If you just want to go for one game, it will cost you $7 for the box seats, and $6 for general admission.
The Tourists farm team is the Colorado Rockies. They have had many farm teams in the past, but the Rockies have been the longest farm team so far. The Tourists have had 9 other affiliates, including the Boston Red sox, Texas Ranges, Pittsburgh, the Phillies and, The Chicago White Sox.

Very well written informative post. You must go to many games to know so much about the Tourists.

In the beginning of the article I meant to say United States, not Untied States.

Great article! I try to make it to at least two or three Tourist games a month, and I always have a great time.
I didn't know that Thirsty Thursday was sponsored by Wild Wings and radio stations. It's also worth noting that the first dollar you spend on the wrist band goes to help underprivileged children get shoes!
GO Tourist! BOOOO visitors!
