The Grownup Noise - North American Summer Tour
The Grownup Noise to play at the Bobo Gallery on 8/28 during their fourth national tour.

On Friday, August 28th, 2009 at 8pm The Grownup Noise, an indie pop/rock/folk band from Boston, Ma. will play a show in Asheville at the Bobo Gallery (22 Lexington Ave.) with a stellar lineup which included locals "Shod my Feet" and "Ensemble Pamplemousse", also on tour from NYC.
This show is part of their 4th national tour as they criss- cross the country playing 20+ dates during July and August, before finally coming home in September. This tour is also part of the band's continued efforts towards "green" touring, as their van runs on recycled fryalator oil that they collect on the road.
The band has been playing for almost five years at this point, and they have often been compared with other modern indie pop bands such as Stars, Death Cab for Cutie, and Ra Ra Riot. The unique underpinnings of The Grownup Noise's music are what have garnered them true praise, however, as their experimentation with song form, style (from stomp-along gypsy rock to sober ballads) and instrumentation (who says cello and marimba have no place in indie rock?) yields perfectly stunning results.
The boys and girl are very excited to get back on the road as this tour is coming on the heels of several recent noteworthy successes, including opening for Canadian indie rockers Plaza Central and a recent noteworthy musical appearance on MTV.
