Parent-and-Child Cooking at Terra Summer January 16 2010
Overcome the Winter Blues with Terra Summer's second parent-and-child cooking class!
Renowned Asheville chefs Mark Rosenstein and Barbara Swell join forces for a day of COMFORT FOOD cooking in our cozy state-of-the-art kitchen classroom. Come learn to treat your winter blues by cooking foods that soothe the soul. Children will walk away empowered and able to nourish themselves through delicious, wholesome, unprocessed food they can make for themselves. And parents will walk away bonded through a soulful experience with their children (well, not to mention the good food!).
Saturday, January 16 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Children ages 10 to 14 are welcome. Registration is limited to 20 parents with children, so sign up soon. The fee for a parent-child couple is $35. You may bring an additional child (yours or a friend's) for an additional $5. You can also give the class as a gift for the holidays!
Terra Summer is the Asheville area's new environmentally-minded, interdisciplinary summer program that teaches children to think through food. We are located at 75 Bryson Road in Mills River.
To register for the class e-mail Sybil Fix at Sybil@terrasummer.org or call 828-782-7842. For directions and more information on Terra Summer explore www.terrasummer.org
