Mountain BizWorks
Mountain BizWorks' mission is to provide entrepreneurs with access to business instruction, professional support, and loans, which in turn, help create and sustain successful businesses that help grow the economy of Western North Carolina.
Mountain BizWorks is a national leader in the field of small business development. They have provided business training to more than 3,000 entrepreneurs, established over 1,000 locally-owned businesses, and loaned more than $1 million to entrepreneurs who were unable to obtain capital from traditional lending sources.
Mountain BizWorks offers a variety of courses for both beginning and established business owners.
- Foundations, is an eight-week business planning course. Foundations participants join with other entrepreneurs to explore the basics of starting a business. At the end of the course, they will have turned their business concept into a comprehensive business plan which can be used to grow their company.
- As a company grows so should the owner's business knowledge. Mountain BizWorks offers courses on bookkeeping and marketing.
- Mountain BizWorks has a one-on-one business training program for entrepreneurs with a well-established business plan in place. The Growth through Objectives (GO) program begins with an initial business assessment by a Mountain BizWorks business developer followed by an individualized follow though schedule.
Business owners who need capital to start, expand, or buy a business can benefit from Mountain BizWorks' loan program. The loan program is designed not only to help the business owner succeed in business by getting the needed money, but also to educate individuals about the process of getting a loan. Mountain BizWorks' lending is geared toward financing a business when traditional lending from a bank may not be available. Mountain BizWorks' loans of up to $50,000 are structured to meet a borrower's ability to pay. Conditions differ according to your financial needs and include short term loans, lines of credit, and term loans to five years.
Mountain BizWorks serves the twelve western-most counties of North Carolina with regional offices in Asheville, Hendersonville, and Sylva. For more information, visit www.mountainbizworks.org.
