Learning to Work at the Laughing Seed Cafe
I started working at the Laughing Seed Cafe in late 2008. I learned to wash restaurant dishes, while I have been there the past several months. I think it is very good experience to have in case I ever have to get a job.
The Laughing Seed Cafe is located on 40 Wall Street in downtown Asheville. The parking is not that great, so the parking garage is the best bet. The parking deck is usually $2.00, or $2.50, which is cheaper than the meters usually are.
The food is healthy there since it is vegetarian, and fresh from the local farmers. There are a lot of international dishes there that you would not expect to find at vegetarian restaurant. They also have vegan selections if you like them. The prices are pretty reasonable for the food quality they serve.
I like the international aspect of the menu. The best two things I think they have there are both sandwiches. One is the Sloppy Joe, and the other one is Mercury Not Rising, which is made out of seitan. You can view the entire Laughing Seed menu here: Laughing Seed Cafe - Home

The Laughing Seed Cafe supports the autism community in Asheville by allowing this 19 year old with autism to learn job skills at the restaurant. Fostering the marketable skills of people with autism helps to promote diversity and productivity in our community. Thanks Laughing Seed!
