French Broad River Fishing Report - Winter

Chris Manderson

We have called it a season. Fishing in the winter is about sunny days and patience; it is possible to catch smallmouth with these two factors involved. Use grubs, jigs and crankbaits slowly in deep and calm pools, the more off the main channel the better.  Call Chris Manderson, 828 216-1336, or visit www.whitewatersportsman.com for more information about fishing the French Broad River.

12/1 addendum:  The FBR is flowing at a really high level now (over 12,000 cfs) and caution should be used around the river until it gets down to normal range (less than 2500 cfs) on the Asheville USGS gauge.
