French Broad River Fishing Report - May 4th, 2011

Asheville fishing has been really good this week. Trips averaged about 45 smallmouth per trip, with a few big ones posing for pictures on most trips. Fish have moved out of the deep pools and are now widely distributed. Shallows are a good bet now. Crankbaits and grubs have been effective this week, fished at quick pace. Also, smallmouth are nearing their spawning period and should start this week or next; please practice catch and release for a few more weeks. For more information about fishing the French Broad River call Chris Manderson at 828 216-1336 or visit www.whitewatersportsman.com.
