French Broad River Fishing Report - June 1st, 2011

It has been unseasonably warm in Asheville this week. The heat has slowed the bite some, especially in the middle of the day. Still, smallmouth trips averaged over 30 fish this week. Try to avoid mid-day heat by getting out either early or late; the bite has been good on both ends of the day. Summertime patterns, like shallow crankbaits and small grubs, are really working now. Smallmouth have spread out and are widely distributed, so work seam areas and light currents until you get them patterned. Call Chris Manderson at 828 216-1336 or visit www.whitewatersportsman.com for more information about fishing the French Broad River.
