French Broad River Fishing Report - July 6th, 2011

This week has been all about where afternoon storms dump their rain; heavy squalls in the wrong place can really be bad for fishing. We have been lucky in that rains have brought cool temperatures along, and that has helped the fishing. Trips this week averaged about 40 fish, mostly smallmouth as the sunfish bite has not been as good as last week. Fish shallow areas in the mornings and move to deeper runs as the day heats up. Crankbaits and grubs have been good this week, in bright patterns if the river is stained and natural patterns if not. Call Chris Manderson, 828 216-1336, or visit www.whitewatersportsman.com for more information about fishing the FBR.
