Smallmouth bass

It is about that time! The river has had that great winter deep green color recently, an invitation to get out and fish deep and slow for the big ones. A few warm days is all we need now. Target a sunny afternoon, fish a deep current line, and be patient. Late winter fishing is about catching a very few high quality fish. Catch rates are sometimes 1 per hour, and usually the smallmouth are 2 pounds or better. We are targeting mid-March to open, but if you just can't wait call and we can get you out sooner. Call Chris Manderson, 828 216-1336, or visit www.whitewatersportsman.com for more information about fishing the French Broad River.
