French Broad River Fishing Report - April 9 2014

This is the time of the year to go fishing in the French Broad. The smallmouth are beginning to bite with some consistency, and temps generally are pleasant on the river. Try to pick avoid days when recent rain has put a stain in the river; fishing is difficult when the water is too muddy. Otherwise, now is a great time to get out. Fishing has been very productive most of the day, especially in mid-morning and mid-afternoon. Smallmouth are still in deep pools off the main current. We have had success with natural color grubs fished deep recently. For more information about fishing the FBR, or to book a float trip, call Chris Manderson at 828 216-1336.

Just moved to Brevard. Love to fish. Don't know this area (yet). I have fished a lot in the last 3 years. Lived in Hattiesburg, MS and fished in the gulf and local lakes. Rick Salling 601-818-9246
