John from Asheville and a 15" smallmouth
caught Monday near downtown.
River levels & air temperatures are finally starting to cooperate, so the fishing has improved greatly in the last 2 weeks. We have been catching a bunch of quality fish, and the catch rate is improving, too. Fishing is only going to get better, too, as April is considered one of the best months of the year for smallmouth. Please practice catch-and-release on pre-spawn smallmouth through the end of the month.
