French Broad River Fishing Report - 8/18/2010

River levels were unpredictable this week. It becomes more difficult to "read" the river and make the correct call about where and how to fish when the flow swings 50%+ overnight. Still, we managed to have solid efforts all week. Catch rates varied with the water clarity, from about 20 to 50 smallmouth per trip with a few nice 16"ers in the mix. Use bright colors if the river is stained; switch back to natural patterns as it clears. Call Chris Manderson (828 216-1336) or visit www.whitewatersportsman.com for more information about fishing the French Broad River.
