French Broad River Fishing Report - 7/28/2010
The Asheville area has had thundershowers most afternoons recently. The river has a stain now, but not too much to fish. Still, flow levels are about 60% of average for this time of year even with the storms. Smallmouth are active in the mornings and evenings, avoid mid-day (12-3) if you can. We have been finding them in the shallow areas in the morning and they seem to move a little deeper and spread out later. Use bright lures and/or noisy lures while the river is stained. Call Chris Manderson (828 216-1336) or visit www.whitewatersportsman.com for more information about fishing the French Broad River.

Small bass have been hitting white shade made by zoom. Need to be a little active on the retrieve with a little jerk as you reel in. I have also noticed they hit just as the sun hits the water too.
