French Broad River Fishing Report - 11/4/2009

The river has been too high to effectively fish this week. However, the water has gotten chilly, as I can attest to first hand from kayaking this week. Levels should be good to fish by the weekend, and clarity is good. So, fishing will be best in the afternoons on sunny days from here on out. Smallmouth should still be pretty active - it isn't that cold yet - in the afternoons. Crankbaits and jigs fished slowly in calmer pools will be the best bet. Quality fishing will probably end in the next couple weeks or with the first really cold spell. So now is a great time to get the last effort or two in of this season.
