Frankie Bones Supports Local Artist Auditioning for American Idol
Aaron LaFalce, of Asheville, will be auditioning for American Idol next week in Austin, Texas, thanks to support from Frankie Bones Restaurant & Lounge. LaFalce, 27, is a singer-songwriter who plays guitar and piano. He was not planning to audition for the popular show, but Frankie Bones bartender Anita Elliott wouldn't take no for an answer. With her encouragement, Frankie Bones owner Alan Wolf decided to foot the bill for both airfare and hotel. "He's way too talented not to at least give it a shot," says Wolf, "and this is a great opportunity to support our local arts community by hopefully helping Aaron to grow as an artist." Once Wolf presented the offer to LaFalce, the plan was set in motion.
For over a year, Aaron LaFalce has been performing at Frankie Bones in south Asheville, entertaining lounge patrons and gaining attention from employees. He performs every Tuesday evening from 7:30 - 11:00 p.m. for Carolina Spirits Night. However, next Tuesday, LaFalce will be in the Lone Star State. He registers at the Frank Irwin Center in Austin on Monday, August 9, and returns at 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning, August 11, to line up for the American Idol audition process. "I may or may not go beyond Austin in the competition," says LaFalce, "but I'm proud to represent Asheville there and am grateful for Frankie Bones for sponsoring my trip."
Frankie Bones Restaurant & Lounge opened in April 2007 in Gerber Village in South Asheville, and serves American-Italian cuisine daily for lunch and dinner, as well as Sunday brunch. The restaurant features nightly specials such as Family Night Sunday, Whiskey Wednesday, Ladies Night Thursday, and Bubbles and Booze on Fridays. Visit www.fbdining.com for more information, or call the restaurant at (828) 274-7111. All this week, Frankie Bones will be collecting spare change donations in support of cab fares and meal costs for Aaron LaFalce.
