Flood Advisory Issued For Asheville Citizens Near Swannanoa River
After heavy rains showered Asheville all weekend, the Swannanoa River rose high enough for Asheville to be under a flood advisory until Monday afternoon. Reported by Rob Landreth from CBS Channel 7:
A flood advisory has been posted for citizens along the Swannanoa River in the city of Asheville until Monday afternoon.
The advisory was posted due to heavy rainfall in area and it is expected that the river will rise to near 11.5 feet sometime after midnight Monday morning. The Asheville City Fire and Rescue Department says that water in this area, near Biltmore and Garfield Street, will be able to reach businesses and residences when the river reaches that level.
