Downtown Master Plan Moves Forward
The Downtown Master Plan is entering its final phase towards adoption. Read the final draft here. This information came via email:
Tuesday May 12, 9:00 am - Meeting with Consultants at the Office of Economic Development, 29 Haywood Street. This will be a chance for you to meet with the consultants - and this is their last trip to Asheville. This will be a joint meeting of the Downtown Commission and the Master Plan Advisory Committee.
May 12 - 5:00 pm City Council - This will be a presentation from the consultants, but there is no public comment specifically for the master plan at this meeting. It is an opportunity for Council to hear from the consultants and ask questions, and have a chance to absorb the content. As always, there will be a public comment period at the end of the meeting, and that will probably be quite late. The master plan will be presented in the first part of the meeting.
May 26 - City Council - At this session, Council will hold a public hearing on the master plan. It is at this meeting, that the Advisory Committee will likely want to have someone represent the Committee and make comments.
