Bluegrass First Class Festival, February 12-14, 2010
Milton Harkey is proud to announce the 15th annual Bluegrass First Class to be held Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, February 12-14, 2010 in the Grand Ballroom of the luxurious Crowne Plaza Resort in Asheville, NC.
This 3-day event will feature such well known bluegrass performers as Rhonda Vincent and The Rage, Russell Moore and IIIrd Tyme Out, The Dillards, Snyder Family Band, and Next Best Thing. Saturday brings in Dailey and Vincent, Steep Canyon Rangers, and the incomparable Tony Rice Unit along with Lonesone River Band, Darin and Brooke Aldridge, and The Julia Ann Band with bluegrass legend Bobby Hicks - and yes, our local comedians Tim White and Dillon will be there on Friday and Saturday. Also, a special banjo setup workshop by Tom McKinney will be held in the hotel's Swannanoa meeting room on Saturday afternoon at 1:00. The Sunday morning gospel entertainment will be performed by Brothers 4 Him.
Many of the area's finest musicians from the hot local and regional bluegrass scene, along with bluegrass music's top acts will be on hand for an unparalleled weekend of superb acoustic music performances. In addition to the Grand Ballroom stage shows, many artists will entertain the audience in the cozy sunken lounge providing fans with an opportunity to listen to these musicians in a close, intimate setting.
The Crowne Plaza Resort is the finest of its kind in North Carolina. It will be dedicated to bluegrass for the entire weekend. All of the hotel's rooms will be occupied by bluegrass fans; and all of the facility's meeting rooms will be set aside for picking and jamming. There is a "quiet" block consisting of a few sleeping rooms which the hotel has set aside for those who wish to relax in a no-jamming zone.
