Dear Bubbi,

I've been applying everywhere for a teaching position but with jobs so scarce, I ended up taking a job at a daycare center. I work under an older woman who gets upset when I make a suggestion or try to change anything she does. I feel like she resents me because I have a college degree and she doesn't. Any suggestions on what to do? I really need this job and don't want to start any problems.

Dear Grateful for A Job,

Why don't you start by complimenting your balebatisch (mature) co-worker for the things she is doing right. Is she loving to the kids? Does she have a lot of patience with them? Perhaps she thinks that YOU don't like her! She may also be a little intimidated by the fact that you are younger and more educated. Get to know her as a person and once you do, I think your relationship will improve enough for you to say things without her taking offense.

I am trying to eat organic but I really can't afford the extra expense. This is very important to me so any suggestions you have will be appreciated.

Dear Organically Inclined,

Make a detailed list of every penny you spend each month for all expenses including entertainment, impulse buys etc... and see if you can eliminate or cut down on anything that isn't as important to you as what you eat. Then take the gelt (money) that you save and apply it toward your food budget. If eating organic is that important to you,then do anything possible to make that happen.
