Dear Bubbi,

Why do people run for local public office who have no experience and make no sense when they talk about current issues? I try to stay involved and attend almost all public meetings, but frankly I'm fed up with most of the candidates. Where are the good ones hiding?

~Disillusioned Voter

Dear Disillusioned Voter,

I believe that some people mean well when they run for public office and want to see change happen but don't bother doing their homework. That's why they end up sounding like a shmo (foolish). I think a lot of the "good ones" have backed off during these tough economic times. I really can't blame them.

Dear Bubbi,

I have a friend who signs up for every online social/business networking site and when she fills out the personal section, she skims several years off her age. This lady and I and most of our mutual friends went to school together. We know how old she really is and we think it's the dumbest thing to do. Who does she think she's fooling?

~Friends with a Phony

Dear Friends with a Phony,

Ain klainikeit! (Big Deal!) I'm sure you and your friends have much more important things to worry about than whether or not this lady is honest about her age. I would not make a big deal about it unless your intentions are to destroy the friendship. I hope you will choose to move on to more important things.
