Dear Bubbi,

There's nothing I wouldn't do for my friends and though they say they feel the same way, it's rarely reciprocated. The other day, I asked one of these supposed good friends to help me out with something and he chose to ignore my texts and phone calls. I'm not mad just disappointed. Am I expecting too much?

~Where Are The Real Friends

Dear Where Are The Real Friends,

I've always believed that "actions speak louder than words" and I understand your disappointment. You sound like the type of person who takes your friendships seriously...that's great. As far as your expectations in others...You'll have to accept the fact that not everyone is like you. If you feel you're being taken advantage of, perhaps it's time to make some new friends.

Dear Bubbi,

My landlord is driving me crazy. First he tells me that he doesn't allow any dogs in the building, so I gave my dog to my sister. Now his nephew is living next door and he has two dogs who bark 24/7. When I complained to the landlord, he gave me some excuse that it's family and he can't do anything about it. I'm ready to move out but I signed a year lease and don't want to lose my deposit.

~Tired And Frustrated

Dear Tired And Frustrated,

Can't blame you for feeling meshuge (crazy) right now! Does your lease specifically say no dogs allowed? If it does, than you have a legitimate complaint against the landlord for allowing any dogs in the building. It is situations like this that make it imperative that you always get everything in writing! If you run into a problem, I would suggest you consult an Attorney for advice.
