Ask Bubbi

Dear Bubbi,

I am married to one of the two most competitive men on this planet. He and his twin brother take it to such extremes, it drives me and my sister-in-law crazy! We go out together all the time and it might as well be just the two of them. They're so busy challenging each other to all kinds of crazy stuff, they barely pay attention to us. What should we do?

~Tired Of Being Ignored

Dear Tired Of Being Ignored,

Why don't you and your sister-in-law plan a "just girls" weekend and go have FUN without the guys. Hopefully, sometime between Friday night and Sunday, they'll notice you're both gone. Maybe then, they'll get the hint that spending time with them is B-O-R-I-N-G! If that doesn't work, sit those two guys down and read them the riot act!!

Dear Bubbi,

My roommate and I have been friends since we were in middle school and grew up down the street from each other. I can't stand how she interferes in every relationship I have, to the point that I hate to bring anyone over. She's worse than my mother, always telling me that no guy is good enough! I'm at the point where I want to break my lease and move out. I need help!

~One Mother Is Enough

Dear One Mother Is Enough,

I had a college roommate like that once. (A high school friend). She threw me an 18th birthday party and left out all my new college friends because she decided they weren't good enough for me. I moved out after one semester! Sounds like you and your friend could use a break from each other. How about finding someone to take over your lease? I would be honest with your friend and tell her how you feel. If she gets upset, there's not much you can do about it. If she's a true friend, she'll get over it!
