Dear Bubbi,

My sister and I live within 20 minutes of each other. We each have 2 boys under the age of six. We try to get together at least twice a week. Here is the problem. When I have my sister and her boys over to my house, her kids run wild tearing up the place. She never disciplines them. I spend hours after their visit, cleaning up the mess. My kids are not allowed to act like that when we visit her home. Any advice on how I should approach the subject?

~Exhausted Mommy

Dear Exhausted Mommy,

First of all, why don't you confine the four boys to a specific area instead of giving them free reign of the house. If your sister's boys get out of hand, ask your sister to handle the situation. Explain to her that you are trying to keep the mess to a minimum. If she refuses to get off her tuchas and discipline them, be an assertive Aunt and explain to the boys that in your house, children do NOT run around like wild ponies. Then take their hands and return them to the designated play area.

Dear Bubbi,

This is a very simple question. I am almost 17 and I met a guy that my Mother doesn't want me to hang out with. She says he is too old for me. He's only 24. I don't see what the big deal is about our age difference. What do you think?

~Not A Baby Anymore

Dear Not A Baby Anymore,

Since you are still considered a minor, I understand why your Mother is concerned about the age difference. There is a big difference in life experience between a 16 year old and a 24 year old. In this situation, I agree with your Mother. I think your friend needs to find himself a woman closer to his own age to hang out with.
