What am I supposed to do with a good friend who can't keep secrets? Every time I confide in her, she swears up and down she won't say a word to anyone and then she conveniently *forgets* and spills the beans. I'm at my wits end with her!

Your dear friend is what's called a Yenta (gossip) and I would think twice (maybe three times) about sharing more with her than your grocery list. If you feel like you're going to plotz (explode) if you don't share your thoughts...walk yourself to the bathroom and start talking to the mirror. Your secret is safe with YOU!

I recently broke up with a guy who I still have strong feelings for. He is perfect in every way except he proposes to me at least once a week. He's 25 and I'm 22 and I'm NOT ready to get married anytime soon. My friends tell me I'm crazy to give him up. I'm so confused

Oh, the joy of being young and having such tsuris (problems). Have you told him in plain English that you do not want to get married anytime in the near future? If you have trouble verbalizing your feelings,why don't you write him a letter. (not an email) It may sound old fashioned but in this situation, it may help get your message across. You have every right to want to be 100% ready before you make such an important commitment. If it's bashert (meant to be) it will happen...one day!
