Dear Bubbi,

I don't know what to believe anymore when it comes to politics. I keep up to date on the latest political news, have great discussions with my college friends, but then I go home and feel overwhelmed about all the issues. Does my concern even make a difference?

~Disillusioned College Student

Dear Disillusioned College Student,

You absolutely do make a difference! The fact that you educate yourself and get out there and participate in discussions about political issues indicates that you care about the future of this country. Don't stop....We need young people like you!

Dear Bubbi,

My best friend (since childhood) is a single Mom with a 4 year old daughter. Recently, she started dating a man she met at work. She's asked me to babysit many times, which I don't mind, but she's never offered to pay me. I'm out of work and could really use the money. How do I approach the subject without ruining our friendship.

~Broke Best Friend

Dear Broke Best Friend,

Perhaps your best friend is so wrapped up in this new romance, she is oblivious to your situation. If that is the case, "enlighten" her and see if she offers to pay you for babysitting. If she still doesn't offer, you have two choices....Nicely tell her NO or hand her a rate sheet for your babysitting services.
