Dear Bubbi,

My girlfriend broke up with me two weeks before Valentine's Day and we haven't talked since that night. Everyone is saying how lucky I am that she did it before I went out and bought her a bunch of presents. That doesn't make me feel any better. I've lost the most amazing girlfriend I ever had.

Alone On Valentine's Day,

I'm sorry this happened, but I have a feeling no matter when your girlfriend broke up with you, it would not have been the right time. Did you ever tell her that she was the most amazing girlfriend you ever had? Why don't you try communicating that sentiment to her. If she responds, it's a very good sign!

Dear Bubbi,

All this cold, miserable weather has caused me to eat a lot of snacks and pack on the pounds this winter. I need advice on how to get back in shape again!

~Former Size 6

Dear Former Size 6,

I thought about your question as I polished off the last bite of my chocolate cake. Unfortunately, I can relate much too easily to this question. So here's what I suggest. How about forming a walking group with a few friends and/or neighbors? Cut out the junk food snacking and replace it with fruit or raw vegetables. While you're thawing out from this frigid winter, go online and read up on healthy diets. Find one that appeals to you and give it a try.You can be back in shape by bathing suit season!
