Ask Bubbi

Dear Bubbi,

Do you think a six and eight year old are old enough to have chores to do around the house? My husband thinks I am being a slave driver when it comes to my kids. I don't see it like that at all. What are your thoughts?

~Concerned Mother

Dear Concerned Mother,

I don't see anything wrong with a child having chores to do as long as they are age appropriate. When my 4 children were young, we cleaned house every Saturday morning as a "team" with even the youngest having a chore or two. After the house was sparkling clean, we all went out for a fun afternoon!

Dear Bubbi,

My best friend and I both have a crush on the same guy. Should we draw straws to see which one of us gets to go after him? p.s. He doesn't know that either one of us likes him.

~Best Friends Forever

Dear Best Friends Forever,

Wow, times have changed! Back in the "old days", boys usually chased the girls! My first thought is...Forget the guy and don't risk ruining the friendship. If you decide to go forward with this, draw straws, flip coins...whatever works! Just don't get insulted if he doesn't return the affection.
